Worker Fatally Injured Due to Impaired Hearing from Noise-Induced Hearing Loss
In a documented case, a worker with significant noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) failed to perceive an approaching vehicle in a noisy industrial environment. The worker's diminished hearing acuity, a result of prolonged exposure to hazardous noise levels without adequate hearing protection, prevented him from detecting auditory warning signals.
