Five workers were standing on a scaffold nine stories off the ground as they were plastering the exterior of a high rise apartment building. The scaffold collapsed, sending three of them to their deaths. The other two workers were able to hang on to the scaffold and were rescued. Too many construction workers are working on dangerous scaffolds hastily thrown together from poor lumber. Too many work aloft without safety railings and other fall prevention equipment.
