What’s concerning is not a visible injury, but the child’s behaviour and body language. Withdrawal, fearfulness, and changes in engagement can signal distress.
What should be avoided is dismissing these signs as “just a phase.” The behaviour to model is calm observation, documentation, and reporting when concerns persist.
