Since October is Fire Prevention Month, it's only fitting to show a photograph of a situation that would have any electrician or firefighter shaking his or her head. A safety inspector found this device, still in use, under a bed. The person(s) sleeping in this bed may well have never awakened from this nightmarish hazard if a fire had started.
