OSHA says inspections initiated by its Hartford, CT, office in March revealed numerous hazards, including a cross-section of chemical, electrical and mechanical hazards that could lead to burns, lacerations, amputations, crushing injuries, electrocutions, explosions and lead poisonings among employees. Twenty-five serious and four repeat citations carrying total proposed penalties of more than $150,000 were issued to Colt Defense, while Colt’s Manufacturing was issued 21 serious citations carrying $71,000 in proposed fines.
