Employee Is Injured in Battery Explosion
At approximately 1:00 p.m. on September 23, 2009, an employee, a maintenance worker for the City of Foster City Public Works Department was checking out the generator station which included checking: water level for the batteries, coolant level for the radiator and engine oil level; and starting the generator. The employee was reaching over a lead acid battery while attempting to start the generator when the battery exploded and knocked down the employee.
