What is wrong in this picture?

There is a man using a ladder in a very wrong way and very unsafe, first the ladder is on a slope, second he is standing on top, and third he has nothing to hold on to, this person in the picture is very likely to suffer a fall incident which will be very painful, some bones may end up broken or even death. There are times where you have to work more and hard and times where you must stop working and this is a situation where you should stop working immediately to avoid a painful injury and to evaluate what you are doing wrong and apply safety work practices.

Falls are the Leading Cause of Death in Construction in the United States In 2010, there were 264 fall fatalities (255 falls to lower level) out of 774 total fatalities in construction. These deaths are preventable. Falls from ladders, scaffolds and roofs can be prevented and lives can be saved through three simple steps: Plan, Provide and Train.

Sometimes, highly skilled people work with extremely hazardous materials or in hazardous workplaces very safely with proper planning, training and special tools. But more often, people are so deeply engrossed in their work, or hurried by “life’s demands,” that they don’t see the bigger “unsafe” picture that may be quite obvious to someone who isn’t directly involved in the work. And those are the times where people need to stop working to prevent an incident and save a life.
