  1. The United States experienced more ladder-related fatalities, 355 in 2004, than any other nation. That makes it the number one country in the world for ladder deaths.
  2. Most ladder deaths involve falls of 10 feet or less.
  3. Canada recorded 39 deaths from falls on or from ladders in 2004, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
  4. Fifty percent of occupational fall fatalities in the US occur in the construction industry.
