Lab Safety For High School Students

This video will not list all hazards or potential hazards in a lab environment and it’s not intended to teach you everything you need to know about safety. It’s designed to make you more aware of your need for safety, particularly in school science labs. Always follow your teacher’s instructions. Don’t take short cuts, don’t experiment on your own, and use only the materials authorized by your teacher. Topics covered in this video include: Basic safety rules, carcinogens, toxins, explosives, corrosives, irritants, flammables and combustibles, flame arrestor, personal protective equipment (PPE), chemical storage, and labeling requirements.
